First and second day of development devlog!

Welcome to my first devlog for this game ! I ended up deciding to try and make a Twine game on a whim, but I've given myself the limit of two weeks in the hopes it will motivate me to actually come up with a somewhat useable prototype in that time ! For these first days I do not have much of a plan yet with this game, other than figuring out the basics of how Twine works. I have a vague idea of where I want to go but no story written out yet!

On day one I got Twine installed, and started trying to figure out how to do the first passage I had in mind. I wanted a textinput that let the player enter their name, but that proved to be quite difficult for me- I have a lot of experience in programming - especially web based programming - But it seemed to have shot myself in the foot as I wasn't really used to not having that much freedom when it comes to programming things in.

Today, day two, I ended up scrapping the little I already had and decided to switch courses- I started the project with sugarcube instead of harlowe, and with some time I finally figured out a way to get the user to enter their name and have said name appear in the next link !

I added in a button, that launches a replace script- That script places the link with the new variable value in it, inside an already existing span object. I already added in a second passage too, that starts by giving the player a few choices that will start by giving them some basic stats depending on their answers!

Lastly, because I wanted to keep proper track on my progress, I created this project page and wrote this devlog!
